Pinion names Gary S. Maier CEO of its US operations
Maier’s appointment takes effect on 29 September 2026 as Pinion expands its specialty insurance platform and its work with managing general agents.
Pinion Insurance, a London-based specialty insurance carrier established earlier this year, has appointed insurance executive Gary S. Maier as Chief Executive Officer of its US operations, effective 29 September 2026, according to Reinsurance News.
Maier will oversee Pinion’s US operations as the company develops its specialty insurance platform and expands its collaboration with managing general agents (MGAs), which use Pinion’s capacity across the US, UK, and European markets.
Pinion said Maier brings nearly 40 years of insurance sector experience, spanning underwriting, distribution, MGAs, product development, and corporate development.
Before joining Pinion, Maier was CEO of Ledger Risk Markets and Chief Revenue Officer at Ledger Investing, the outlet reported, citing comments from Pinion co-founder Laura Baird.
