SiriusPoint and Sutton Special Risk launch SportsSecure for colleges
The new accident and health product is designed to address injury-related financial exposure tied to Name, Image and Likeness and revenue-sharing commitments.
SiriusPoint, a specialty underwriter, announced a strategic partnership with Sutton Special Risk, a specialist managing general underwriter, to launch a new insurance product called SportsSecure. Reinsurance News said the partnership combines both firms' underwriting and sports-related accident and health expertise.
SportsSecure is designed for college and university athletic programs to manage injury-related financial exposures tied to Name, Image and Likeness and revenue-sharing commitments, according to Reinsurance News. The solution also aims to mitigate the impact of injury-related disruptions on athletic departments.
Reinsurance News added that the product is intended to help brokers and institutions navigate the evolving NIL and revenue-sharing landscape. The companies also said the approach is meant to support the long-term stability of athletic programs.
