Tata Motors arm buys 26% stake in e-mobility company

TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Limited said the deal cost ₹2,60,000, at ₹10 per share, and would make MEMHPL an associate and related party of Tata Motors.

Tata Motors has acquired a 26% stake in Hyderabad-based Mateshwari E-Smart Mobility (Hyderabad) Private Limited through its arm, TML Smart City Mobility Solutions Limited, according to a BSE filing reported by LiveMint Markets.

The investment is ₹2,60,000, based on ₹10 per share at par, and the company said the stake would constitute 26% of the paid-up share capital, making MEMHPL an associate of Tata Motors after the transaction.

The filing also said MEMHPL was incorporated on August 11, 2026, and it will become a related party post transaction as a result of the investment.

Tata Motors indicated the move is aimed at enhancing its operations in electric bus tenders, reflecting a strategic expansion in the electric mobility sector.
