Vedanta demerger entities show mixed trading performance after listing
Vedanta Limited’s demerger took effect on record date May 1, with the four new stocks beginning trading on June 15, and results varied across the group over more than three months.
LiveMint Markets reviewed performance across the four Vedanta demerger entities, plus residual Vedanta Limited, more than three months after their listing, finding that trajectories have diverged rather than tracking uniformly.
According to the outlet, Vedanta Aluminium Metal started as the standout on listing day but then fell into back to back lower circuits, while Vedanta Iron and Steel, Vedanta Power, and Vedanta Oil and Gas have each shown mixed results during the subsequent trading period.
The outlet also noted timing differences, saying the Vedanta Limited demerger came into effect on the record date, May 1, while the remaining four stocks were listed on June 15.
LiveMint Markets said Vedanta Limited initially had strong upward momentum after the record date, but that broader market consolidation later emerged as trading progressed.
