Anthropic-linked perpetuals record $643M in trading before IPO
Binance Research says Anthropic-linked open interest reached about $80M, and open interest on Binance alone rose 88% in 30 days to $31.2M.
Anthropic-linked pre-IPO perpetual contracts generated $643 million in trading across 12 crypto venues through Sept. 21, already topping the $590 million recorded in all of August, according to Binance Research, as reported by CryptoSlate.
CryptoSlate reports that about $80 million of Anthropic-linked open interest was outstanding at the September snapshot, and on Binance alone open interest climbed 88% over 30 days to $31.2 million from $16.6 million.
The derivatives market has expanded without publicly traded Anthropic shares as an anchor, with traders using cash-settled contracts whose prices reflect a crypto market estimate of Anthropic’s value, which could become more complicated if and when the IPO provides an external reference price.
CryptoSlate also notes that Anthropic announced a confidential draft IPO filing in June, with reports suggesting the debut may slip beyond the November US midterm elections, leaving the market to rely on synthetic valuations for longer.
