Antonio El Hokayem appointed CEO of Antarah at Ardonagh Group
El Hokayem’s role begins subject to customary regulatory approvals, and he joins from Gallagher where he served in multiple Middle East and Africa posts since 2022.
Ardonagh Group has appointed Antonio El Hokayem as Chief Executive Officer of Antarah, its authorized Lloyd’s of London coverholder and managing general agent subsidiary covering the Middle East and Africa, subject to customary regulatory approvals, Reinsurance News reported.
El Hokayem has been at Gallagher since 2022, holding roles including Financial Lines Director for the Middle East and Africa and Head of Specialty for Saudi Arabia, after earlier experience at Zurich as a Financial Lines Underwriter and as a broker for Chedid Re.
The Antarah MGA provides specialist multi-lines propositions aimed at developing product solutions backed by “A” rated binding authorities and Lloyd’s of London capacity, according to the announcement.
Ardonagh Chief Executive Officer David Ross said the appointment is a significant step for the group’s proposition across the Middle East and Africa, where demand for specialty solutions is continuing, and El Hokayem said he is excited to lead the business and team through a growth phase.
