Ascot names new underwriting, specialty insurance leaders effective Oct. 1
Ascot said its leadership changes, including a new president for global underwriting and a new specialty insurance and reinsurance head, take effect Oct. 1 and cover its UK, US, and Bermuda operations.
Insurance Business reports Ascot has reorganized its executive structure and appointed new leadership for two divisions, with the changes taking effect on October 1.
Mark Sarge Pepper was named president, global underwriting, and will work with group CEO and president Jonathan Zaffino on growth strategy, product development, and underwriting talent across Ascot's UK, US, and Bermuda operations. The outlet also notes Pepper previously joined Ascot at its founding in 2001 and has served as group chief underwriting officer since 2009.
Elizabeth Johnson was named president, specialty insurance and reinsurance, leading a division that combines Global Specialty, Bermuda Specialty, and US Specialty. Insurance Business adds that Johnson joined Ascot in 2020, held the role of group chief operating officer since 2024, and previously spent nearly two decades at AIG, including serving as global head of excess casualty.
