Bitcoin futures open interest tops $50 billion as spot activity rises

Bitcoin open interest hit $50 billion, while rising spot volume and thinner order books were cited as signals of an early market upturn.

Bitcoin open interest reached $50 billion, and Bitcoin futures open interest has climbed back above $50 billion for the first time this year, according to Bitcoin Magazine.

Anchorage Digital’s David Lawant, head of research, said the move reflects a more “bullish regime,” describing it as a sign of market vitality rather than a warning.

Lawant attributed the early upturn to rising spot volume alongside thinner order books, pointing to changing liquidity conditions as traders position for the next phase of the market.
