China and US agree to keep searching WWII missing servicemen remains
The pledge was listed among outcomes from Xi Jinping’s three-day state visit to the US.
A decades-long effort between Beijing and Washington to recover the remains of US servicemen missing in China since World War II has come back into focus following the leaders’ summit, according to SCMP Economy.
After the summit, China’s foreign ministry said the two sides agreed their militaries would continue cooperating on searches for the remains of missing US service members in China.
The outlet noted that the ongoing remains search is a practical area where both sides can continue working together.
