EUR/USD stays under pressure as USD firms heading into September
EUR/USD was last around 1.1337, near Tuesday’s low of 1.1312, and is positioned for a more than 2% monthly drop in September.
EUR/USD remained on the defensive on Wednesday as a broadly stronger US dollar weighed on the pair, according to FXStreet. The outlet said the euro is on track for a loss of more than 2% in September.
At the time of writing, EUR/USD traded around 1.1337, close to Tuesday’s low of 1.1312, which FXStreet described as the pair’s weakest level since May 2025.
On the technical side, FXStreet reported that EUR/USD is holding above the 50-period simple moving average at 1.1008 and the 100-period SMA at 1.1200, but remains capped well below the 200-period SMA near 1.1838.
Momentum signals were described as offering little directional conviction, with the relative strength index hovering around the neutral 50 level.
