Family hospitalized after fire at Sha Tin public housing estate

A family of four was sent to hospital after a fire broke out at a public housing estate in Sha Tin, Hong Kong, the outlet SCMP Economy reported.

Police said the fire was reported at 6.48am, with thick smoke coming from a mid-rise flat at Yan Chuen House in Shui Chuen O Estate, and the family tried to put out the blaze before escaping.

The fire prompted the evacuation of around 140 residents, according to police.
