Iran warns it could target Middle East energy infrastructure over Hormuz plan
The threat comes as Iran says it is awaiting a formal U.S. response to a proposal Tehran says would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
OilPrice reports that Iran warned it could attack energy infrastructure across the Middle East unless its security is guaranteed, as it escalated its rhetoric while awaiting the United States to officially respond to a plan Tehran says would reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
According to OilPrice, even though air attacks by both sides have subsided recently, ships continue to be targeted in the strait, and Iran claims control over the waterway.
OilPrice also notes that the situation is unfolding while Iran waits for the U.S. response to its stated effort to reopen Hormuz.
