SEC rules modernization could reduce blockchain “paperwork crisis” risk
CoinDesk highlights concerns that blockchain ownership data spread across multiple systems, including token wrappers, special-purpose vehicles, broker internal ledgers, and transfer agent off-chain databases, can create what it calls a “Paperwork Crisis” for digital asset markets.
The outlet attributes the argument to Fairmint’s Joris Delanoue, who says the SEC’s effort to modernize transfer agent rules is meant to address the mismatch between how ownership records are stored on chain and how they are handled off chain.
