Sompo launches marine cargo insurance on Acturis platform

Sompo has launched a marine cargo insurance offering on Acturis, aiming to give brokers digital quotes and a way to bind eligible risks through the platform, subject to Sompo’s underwriting criteria.
The coverage is designed for goods in transit, and the product combines online trading with access to Sompo’s cargo underwriting team, claims support, and risk management capabilities.
Coverager reports the addition expands Acturis’ insurer panel and increases the cargo products available through the platform, positioning the launch as part of Sompo’s effort to deliver easier digital access while retaining specialist support.
Sompo’s Head of Retail Marine, Cargo and Transport and Logistics for UK Regions, Jon Clare, said the proposition is intended to help brokers trade more easily with Sompo without losing the expertise and responsiveness needed for complex risks.
