Starr appoints Duncan Ellis as EVP for client engagement
Ellis will start the role on 2 October 2026 and will report directly to Starr CEO Steve Blakey.
Starr, the investment and insurance organization and marketing name for the investment business of C. V. Starr & Co., Inc., has appointed Duncan Ellis as Executive Vice President (EVP) for Client Engagement.
The new role takes effect on 2 October 2026. Ellis brings more than 30 years of insurance experience, including senior roles at Marsh and AIG, with a career spanning insurance broking, underwriting, management, and client engagement, with a focus on property insurance.
At Starr, Ellis will oversee the company’s client engagement activities, including developing relationships with clients and business partners and coordinating capabilities across Starr’s lines of business to support those relationships.
Ellis will report directly to Steve Blakey, Starr Insurance Holdings President and Chief Executive Officer, and spent a significant part of his Marsh career as Managing Director, US and Canada real estate and hospitality industry practice leader.
