UK Q2 growth revised up as household saving ratio rises to 8.8%
The UK household saving ratio climbed by 0.2 percentage points in Q2 2026 to 8.8%, according to the ONS.
Britain’s economy was revised slightly higher for the second quarter, with GDP growth in April-June updated to 0.5% from 0.4% in the latest National Accounts, despite disruption from the Iran war, the Guardian Business says. The report attributes the upward growth revision to increases in both services, where activity rose by 0.6%, and construction. In a separate update in the same coverage, the household saving ratio rose by 0.2 percentage points to 8.8% in Q2 2026, driven by a higher contribution from non-pension saving, according to the ONS.
