US food and agriculture firms fund influencer push against RFK Jr-linked themes
A KFF poll from May 2026 found roughly 4 in 10 adults support the “Maha” movement, alongside majorities calling for more regulation of agricultural pesticides and chemical food additives.
The Guardian and Documented reported that some of the largest US food and agriculture corporations are funding a social media influencer campaign aimed at elements of Robert F Kennedy Jr’s “Make America Healthy Again” platform.
The report links the effort to RFK Jr’s role after he became secretary of health and human services, and says his platform attributes chronic illness to processed foods and dyes, exposure to certain chemicals, and poor farming practices, along with opposition to what the report describes as his claims about vaccines.
The same investigation says a Washington “Maha” summit this week will include JD Vance and several members of Trump’s cabinet, and it describes the “Maha” movement as blending mainstream concerns about food and farm safety with broader conspiracy claims.
It also cites a KFF poll from May 2026, where about four in 10 US adults backed the “Maha” movement, while 64% said there is not enough regulation of pesticides used in agriculture and 75% said there is not enough regulation of chemical food additives.
