AIG appoints Turab Hussain as chief risk officer effective Oct. 12
Hussain succeeds Christopher Schaper, who plans to retire at the end of this year, and AIG also named Graham Fulcher global chief actuary effective Oct. 12.
American International Group (AIG) appointed Turab Hussain executive vice president and chief risk officer, effective Oct. 12, the Insurance Journal reports. Hussain will report to Eric Andersen, president and CEO of AIG, and will serve on AIG’s Executive Leadership Team.
Hussain will be based at AIG’s New York headquarters and succeeds Christopher Schaper as chief risk officer. The change comes after Schaper informed AIG that he intends to retire at the end of this year.
Before the AIG CRO role, Hussain had served as the company’s global chief actuary since 2023, and previously joined AIG in 2021 as CRO for General Insurance.
AIG also announced the appointment of Graham Fulcher as global chief actuary, effective Oct. 12, succeeding Hussain. Fulcher will report to Hussain and be based in London, after joining AIG in 2022 as chief actuary for International Commercial Insurance.
