Block launches advertising push to encourage spending bitcoin
Block says it debuted the campaign Thursday, aiming to position bitcoin as a medium of exchange during a U.S. affordability crisis.
Block, the NYSE listed company associated with Jack Dorsey, launched an advertising campaign aimed at encouraging people to adopt a bitcoin standard, with a focus on using bitcoin as a medium of exchange, according to Bitcoin Magazine.
The campaign was announced Thursday and includes messaging tied to the current U.S. affordability crisis, with high prices described as a central issue for voters ahead of the midterm elections.
Bitcoin Magazine reports that Block said it has long pushed for bitcoin to be used to pay for goods, and that the company linked the initiative to building financial products intended to make everyday life easier.
Bitcoin Magazine also said an advertisement accompanying the announcement was posted on X and featured everyday Americans discussing cost of living pressures.
