Dollar index edges lower ahead of September nonfarm payrolls
The dollar index stays near a more-than-one-year high around 102.20 as traders position for US jobs data expected to show 90K new jobs.
The US Dollar Index, which tracks the greenback against six major currencies, was trading slightly lower in early European trade, near 101.88, according to FXStreet.
The index remains close to its over-a-year high of 102.20 set on Thursday.
FXStreet said September nonfarm payrolls are due at 12:30 GMT, with expectations calling for 90K fresh jobs compared with 162K in August and an unemployment rate steady at 4.1%.
The outlet noted the data could meaningfully affect Federal Reserve interest rate expectations.
