Dollar slips from 17-month highs ahead of US nonfarm payrolls

AUD/USD rebounded toward 0.6950 as traders took profit on the prior dollar run.

The US dollar retreated from 17-month highs as traders took profit ahead of the upcoming US Nonfarm Payrolls report, according to FXStreet.

In the Asian session, AUD/USD rebounded toward 0.6950 on fresh US dollar supply, while the Australian dollar drew support from renewed expectations for a November interest rate hike, FXStreet noted.

FXStreet also cited USD/JPY as struggling for fresh impetus, with the dollar weakening after earlier gains tied to Fed related expectations shifting toward a lower chance of an October hike.
