Hope Murera named Deputy Chair of the Insurance Development Forum

Murera will continue leading ZEP-RE as Managing Director and Group CEO while taking on the IDF deputy chair role.

The Insurance Development Forum, a global public-private partnership focused on climate and disaster risk protection, appointed Hope Murera as its Deputy Chair, according to a company announcement covered by Reinsurance News.

Murera serves as Managing Director and Group CEO of ZEP-RE, and the appointment also keeps her as the head of ZEP-RE while she takes on the IDF leadership role.

The announcement says Murera has more than three decades of insurance and reinsurance experience in Africa, with a track record advancing climate resilience and financial inclusion.

Reinsurance News also notes the appointment is intended to support the IDF’s push to expand insurance’s role in building resilience and sustainable growth across emerging markets and developing economies.
