Millennium Management ends September flat as bond selloff hits hedge funds
Millennium Management, a $97.0bn multi-strategy manager, finished September unchanged and was up 8.1% for the first nine months amid a sell-off in government bonds and inflation worries.
Multi-strategy hedge fund Millennium Management ended September unchanged, as a broad sell-off in government bonds and renewed inflation concerns made trading more difficult for hedge funds, according to a report by Bloomberg.
The report said Millennium Management, which manages $97.0bn, was flat for the month and up 8.1% for the first nine months of the year, with performance cited by unnamed people familiar with the firm.
It pointed to a volatile period for financial markets, including higher oil prices tied to the conflict involving Iran, which raised inflation concerns, along with shifting expectations for monetary policy that pushed government bond yields higher and weighed on fixed-income strategies.
Other managers highlighted in the report included Singapore-based Quantedge Global, which gained 4.3% in September, bringing its year-to-date return to 49.3%, while North Rock rose 0.35% during the month and was up 5.1% for 2026.
