Publix buys Miami retail center for $83.25 million

The 204,740-square-foot Airpark Plaza at 5705 Northwest Seventh Street was built in the 1970s and anchors multiple national tenants.

Publix Super Markets paid $83.25 million for Airpark Plaza, a retail center it anchors in Miami, according to a deed filed this week, Commercial Observer reported.

The property is at 5705 Northwest Seventh Street and covers 204,740 square feet across three parcels. The outlet said Airpark Plaza was built in the 1970s and last traded for $36.8 million in 2008, per property records.

Commercial Observer added that Publix made the purchase through a subsidiary based in Lakeland, Florida, acquiring the site from First Washington Realty of Bethesda, Maryland.

Tenants at the plaza include Burlington, TD Bank, First Watch, and The UPS Store, while Commercial Observer noted Publix has expanded its real estate ownership for more than a decade, rising from owning 14 percent of its stores in 2009 to 38 percent by the end of 2025.
