Wawanesa launches WSI after closing acquisition of Everest Canada
The specialty unit will operate as a distinct organization within the Wawanesa group and will cover lines including cyber, aviation, marine, and directors and officers liability.
Wawanesa Mutual Insurance Company has launched WSI to mark the closing of its acquisition of Everest Insurance Company of Canada.
Reinsurance News reports the deal was first announced in March and received regulatory approval in September, and the company said the closing and transition will not impact distribution partners or clients.
The outlet says WSI will provide specialty insurance solutions across lines that include cyber, accident and health, aviation, marine, energy, construction, directors and officers liability, professional liability, and property and casualty.
Wawanesa also stated that existing client and distribution-partner relationships, including contacts, processes, underwriting approaches, and service agreements, will remain in place, and that WSI will operate as a distinct organization within the Wawanesa group.
