Zurich completes Beazley acquisition, appoints new CEO
Zurich said Barbara Plucnar Jensen will stay on as senior advisor through March 2027 to support integration.
Zurich Insurance Group has confirmed the completion of its acquisition of Beazley, saying the combined business is now the world’s largest specialty insurer.
The announcement also confirmed that Adrian Cox is leaving as Beazley chief executive. Zurich appointed Kristof Terryn as CEO of Beazley and Zurich Global Specialty, subject to regulatory approval.
Zurich named Helen Pickford, currently CFO of Zurich UK, as CFO of Beazley and Zurich Global Specialty. It said Barbara Plucnar Jensen, Beazley’s outgoing group CFO, will remain as a senior advisor through March 2027 to support integration.
Additional leadership changes were also announced, including the appointment of Sally Henderson as chief people and sustainability officer, and Ed Bridge taking on the general counsel role across the combined entity.
