Costa reports £20m operating profit as UK shops return to growth
The coffee chain posted profit of £20m for the year to December 31, 2025, after a £13.5m operating loss in 2024, and it plans to open another 50 net outlets in the UK this year.
Costa Limited said it returned to operating profit, posting £20m for the year ended December 31, 2025, following an operating loss of £13.5m in 2024, according to the Guardian Business.
The outlet said Costa’s main coffee shop business returned to the black after revamping its high street outlets and expanding its menu with iced drinks, matcha, and fresher pastries.
Costa has 2,700 outlets in the UK and Ireland and more than 4,000 outlets globally, and it employs about 20,000 people, the report said.
The chain opened a net 50 new outlets in the UK last year and plans another net 50 UK outlets this year, including more drive-thrus and high street locations, as demand from younger consumers for decaf coffee and alternatives is cited as a driver of sales growth.
