Vedanta’s Q2 FY27 updates highlight strong port, weaker zinc output
Vedanta’s port unit logged a record first half cargo discharge of 4,185 KT, up 32% year over year, while Zinc International’s mined metal fell 12% to 53 KT.
LiveMint Markets said Q2 FY27 production updates across Vedanta’s demerged entities show uneven operational performance, separating businesses with stronger structural growth potential from those facing challenges.
The outlet cited Vedanta Limited, the residual holding company, noting standout port operations, including a record first half cargo discharge volume of 4,185 KT, up 32% year over year, and quarterly dispatches of 1,739 KT, up 26% year over year.
On resources performance, LiveMint Markets reported Zinc International mined metal fell 12% year over year to 53 KT, even as Gamsberg Phase 2 was commissioned in Q2, with commercial volumes scheduled for October 2026.
The report added that Vedanta’s ferrochrome business, FACOR, increased output 26% year over year to 24 KT after the Kalarangiatta mine restart, and it cited rising domestic copper sales at Silvassa, though the provided text cuts off before specific figures.
