Bitcoin faces a 20-day energy test as G7 speeds diesel releases

The G7 plan calls for 100 million barrels of emergency fuel over four months, starting immediately, with the first diesel releases scheduled within 20 days.

Crypto markets are watching a near-term test tied to a G7 emergency diesel plan, with leaders agreeing on accelerated releases from fuel reserves within 20 days as governments try to curb shortages and elevated prices that are feeding inflation pressures, according to CryptoSlate.

The group said the International Energy Agency will make 100 million barrels available over four months beginning immediately, though it did not specify how much of the initial release is diesel or how supplies will be allocated across countries.

CryptoSlate notes that for Bitcoin, the main significance is whether cheaper refined fuel can lower energy costs enough to shift inflation and interest-rate expectations, rather than the barrel figure alone.

Bitcoin remains sensitive to changes in Treasury yields, the dollar, and broader liquidity conditions after the Federal Reserve raised rates last month, lifting its target range by 25 basis points to 3.75% to 4%, and any easing in Bitcoin financing costs is described as conditional on inflation cooling.
