Howden names Dominic Collins to step down as Executive Chairman
Collins will move to President Emeritus after a successor is appointed, while the company cited its 2015 RKH combination as a key step in its expansion.
Howden, the global insurance intermediary group, announced a planned leadership change, with Dominic Collins set to step down as Executive Chairman. Once a successor is appointed, Collins will transition to the role of President Emeritus, which will keep him in an active relationship with the group for support and guidance.
The company said Collins became Chairman in May 2015 after a combination between RKH and Howden. Howden added that the transaction brought together RKH’s specialist insurance expertise with Howden’s expanding international broking, distribution, and underwriting businesses, helping form the foundations for later international expansion.
Howden also described the broader combination as moving the business from an entrepreneurial broker into a broader international insurance group. The company said it has since expanded operations across multiple markets, building out capabilities in retail broking, specialty insurance, and reinsurance, as the leadership transition comes while its US operations are established.
