Cambria plans late-2027 restart of Premier gold mill in British Columbia

The company said it will recommission the 2,500-tonne-per-day mill in Q4 2027 and ramp output through 2028, after a prior ramp-up was derailed by insufficient underground feed.

Cambria Gold Mines is targeting another restart of its Premier gold mill in northern British Columbia for late next year, aiming to resume after an earlier production ramp-up was derailed by insufficient underground feed, Mining.com reports.

The company plans to recommission the 2,500-tonne-per-day mill in the fourth quarter of 2027 and ramp up through 2028 at the Premier Gold Project near Stewart on Nisga’a Nation Treaty Lands.

Cambria said the Premier Gold Project has sufficient mineralization to begin mining, with material later augmented by Red Mountain once construction is complete. It added that it has spent $538 million, or $377.3 million (US), since 2021 on the project.

An updated feasibility study, delayed from the current quarter to the first half of next year, is expected to set a revised mine plan, production schedule, and restart cost, while Cambria shares were unchanged at 77 Canadian cents in mid-Monday trading.
