Netanyahu vows there will be no Hamas rule in Gaza

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that there would be no Hamas rule in Gaza, as he attended a memorial event marking three years since the October 7, 2023 attack by the militant group.

Speaking at a state ceremony at the Mount Herzl military cemetery in Jerusalem, Netanyahu said Israel had achieved major accomplishments but still had missions ahead, and he vowed to complete them.

Netanyahu also reiterated that Israel would continue targeting people involved in the attack or who held hostages.

The day was marked as Israel’s national remembrance day, with flags lowered to half mast on public buildings from 6.29 am, the time the attack began, according to Agence France-Presse via SCMP Economy.
