Rubio to discuss Arctic security and energy cooperation in Iceland
The trip runs October 5 to 8 and also covers Greece and Portugal, with Rubio set to focus on energy among other topics.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio is set to begin a four day trip to Iceland on October 5, before continuing to Greece and Portugal from October 5 to 8, to discuss security, defense, energy, economic cooperation, and technology.
According to OilPrice, Rubio is expected to raise Arctic security and economic cooperation in Reykjavik amid concerns facing NATO allies over Russia’s military activity and continued instability in the Middle East.
The outlet said the talks are expected to address how energy and economic cooperation could factor into broader security concerns being considered by NATO partners.
