Survey finds most small businesses want outside help with benefits
In the Ipsos poll of 759 owners, 3 in 4 Gen Z and millennial-owned businesses said they want help, while small business health coverage uptake rose from 41% to 46% from Q2 2025 to Q3 2026.
Insurance Business reports that two out of three small business owners say they want outside help navigating employee benefits, citing a survey from the US Chamber of Commerce and Justworks. The share rises to three in four among Gen Z and millennial-owned businesses.
The same survey, conducted by Ipsos from August 4 to 18, polled 759 small business owners and found many view benefits as essential for retaining and attracting workers. It also points to cost pressure and administrative complexity that are outpacing what employers can manage.
Insurance Business says that, despite the desire for guidance, small businesses are expanding what they offer. Health insurance availability increased from 41% to 46% between the second quarter of 2025 and the third quarter of 2026, and dental and vision coverage rose from 21% to 31%, while retirement plan availability climbed from 22% to 27%.
