West Asia conflict could keep oil and inflation pressures elevated
The manager said the outlook is clouded by war-linked uncertainty, with higher oil, freight, and logistics costs feeding into inflation concerns.
Sunil Singhania, chairman and managing director at Abakkus Asset Manager, said India’s near term market sentiment is being weighed down by the West Asia conflict, which has not shown signs of settling and is adding uncertainty across multiple economies, LiveMint Markets reported.
Singhania said the conflict could help keep oil prices sustainably high, with higher oil, freight, and logistics costs contributing to global inflation, including in the United States.
He added that while India’s growth and corporate earnings outlook remain healthy, the persistent uncertainty may continue to weigh on risk sentiment in the period ahead.
