The city expects around 50mm of rain per day from October 11 to 13, overlapping with the start of the annual meetings, according to Thailand’s Meteorological Department.
Bangkok is preparing for possible flooding as more than 15,000 delegates are expected to arrive for the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank Group, according to Surapong Sarapa, head of Thailand’s Meteorological Department for forecasting, as reported by the SCMP Economy.
The forecast calls for about 50mm of rain, or roughly two inches per day, from October 11 to 13, coinciding with the start of the week-long gathering of finance ministers, central bankers, executives and other delegates from the institutions’ 191 member countries.
