Construction worker jailed for life after assaulting bus driver

A High Court jury in Hong Kong found Tam Yun-chiu, 52, guilty of murdering Ho Lok-man, a 48-year-old bus driver, after a dispute over smoking at a private housing estate while both were waiting for a lift, according to SCMP Economy.

Tam was sentenced to life in prison for the killing, which occurred on September 19, 2023, after he assaulted Ho by punching him, knocking him to the ground, and kicking his head on the podium floor at Amoy Gardens in Kowloon Bay.

SCMP Economy reports that security camera footage showed Tam following Ho after the pair left the lift, with the attack beginning after Tam pushed Ho against a railing.
