The payments volume rose 140% year-to-date and is up 247% versus October 2025 levels, as stablecoins gain traction for faster cross-border transfers.

Crypto card payments have hit a record $12.5 billion in payment volume, according to data cited by Bitcoin Magazine from paymentscan.xyz, first shared by The Kobeissi Letter.

Bitcoin Magazine said the figure represents a 140% increase year-to-date, and it also marks 247% growth compared with levels seen in October 2025.

The outlet attributed the surge to rising use of stablecoins as a payment rail, along with demand for cheaper and faster cross-border transactions.

Bitcoin Magazine also highlighted QR code payments as a bright spot, saying that demand for QR-based spending helped lift activated cards on Jupiter Sp.
