Dollar index stays firm above 102 amid higher US bond yields
The US Dollar Index traded near 102.20, while 10-year Treasury yields rose to about 5.32% close to a fresh two-decade high of 5.35%
The US Dollar traded broadly firm versus major currency peers, with the US Dollar Index holding above 102 as yields on US Treasuries stayed higher, according to FXStreet. The DXY was up 0.1% to near 102.20.
FXStreet also noted the DXY was close to its annual high of 102.54 set on Monday. The outlet attributed the support to persistent inflation fears keeping bond yields elevated.
In rates, FXStreet said 10-year US Treasury yields were up 0.24% to around 5.32%, near a fresh two-decade high of 5.35% reached on Monday. The piece added that traders had scaled back some hawkish Fed expectations after soft September Nonfarm Payrolls data.
FXStreet reported the US dollar was strongest against the British pound in the day’s move among major currencies. It also described its table and heat map approach for tracking daily percentage changes across the currency pairs.
