Hong Kong schools get approval for average tuition fee hikes
The Education Bureau said it received applications from 185 schools covering 74 private schools and 62 international schools for the 2026-27 academic year.
Hong Kong’s Education Bureau has approved tuition fee increases for private, semi-private and international schools, with average hikes of 4.75%, 4.07% and 4.0% respectively.
According to SCMP Economy, the bureau said it received applications from 185 schools as of August 31 to adjust fees for the 2026-27 academic year.
The approved applications covered 49 semi-private schools under the Direct Subsidy Scheme, 74 private schools, and 62 international schools.
