NSE exchange shares fall while BSE shares climb after listing debut

NSE shares, which debuted on BSE on September 24, 2026 at ₹1,800, traded at ₹1,760 on October 6, while BSE shares rose to ₹3,292.30 on Tuesday.

India's National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE exchange stocks have diverged in their early trading after NSE's public listing, with NSE shares trading below their IPO levels while BSE shares have gained, according to LiveMint Markets.

NSE held its much-awaited public offering in September 2026, and since the exchange cannot list on itself, NSE shares began trading on the BSE on September 24, 2026. NSE shares debuted at ₹1,800 per share, a premium of ₹25, or 0.8%, over the IPO issue price of ₹1,785, but the stock later moved below both levels.

By October 6, NSE shares rose 2% to ₹1,760, though they were still 1.4% below the IPO price and down about 2.2% from their listing price, reflecting a roughly 1.4% loss over the past week.

BSE has shown stronger performance over the same period, gaining nearly 2% over the past week and rising 3.5% on Tuesday to ₹3,292.30, LiveMint Markets said.
