Ras Laffan hit in March slashes Qatar LNG capacity
The attack knocked out 17% of Qatar’s LNG export capacity, according to OilPrice, shifting cargo demand toward other suppliers.
OilPrice says Iran’s March strike on Qatar’s Ras Laffan complex knocked out 17% of the country’s LNG export capacity.
With that capacity reduced, the outlet frames the near term trade as a shift in who can supply liquefied natural gas cargoes to Europe and Asia.
OilPrice also notes that, in response to the disruption, US exporter Cheniere shipped more LNG than it did a year earlier.
