Solana Foundation launches DvP settlement aimed at second-level finality

The Solana DvP system is designed to move asset transfers and payments in a single transaction that either settles fully or does not execute.

Solana Foundation announced the launch of Solana DvP, an open-source settlement program for financial institutions that targets faster settlement on Solana, according to Cointelegraph.

Solana DvP provides an application programming interface for delivery-versus-payment, or DvP, settlement intended to reduce securities settlement from one to two days to seconds by combining asset and payment transfers into a single transaction.

The Foundation said the single-transaction approach is designed to complete in full or not take effect, aiming to streamline how institutions perform settlement using Solana.
