US Dollar Index holds near 102.10 as overbought signals flash
The index was hovering around 102.10 after easing from nearly 18-month highs, with RSI near 75.6 indicating stretched conditions.
The US Dollar Index, which tracks the USD against six major currencies, was holding steady after modest gains the prior day, trading around 102.10 during European hours on Tuesday, following a pullback from nearly 18-month highs, according to FXStreet.
FXStreet said the near-term technical picture remains bullish because the DXY is above the nine-day and 50-day exponential moving averages, but it also flagged that the 14-day RSI at about 75.6 points to overbought conditions.
The analysis also described the DXY as rising within an ascending wedge pattern, suggesting possible temporary bullish continuation, while warning that a bearish reversal or correction could emerge if the index reaches the wedge apex or breaks lower support.
FXStreet cited potential levels to watch, including resistance near the 18-month high around 102.53 and near the upper wedge boundary around 102.80.
