Adani CFO says infrastructure fundamentals outweigh India’s short-term sentiment
Indian equities fell sharply, with the Nifty down 1.7%, as foreign investors continued to withdraw funds.
Adani Group Chief Financial Officer Jugeshinder Robbie Singh said the group’s infrastructure assets and long term fundamentals matter more than short term market sentiment, commenting on the recent volatility in Indian equities on X, according to LiveMint Markets.
Singh said short term “ticker noise” and speculation do not change the underlying value of Adani’s infrastructure, adding that “substance always outlasts speculation,” and urging investors to look at the assets rather than what he described as hyperventilating speculators.
His remarks came as India’s stock market faced severe selling pressure, with the headline indices falling to multi month lows and volatility remaining elevated.
LiveMint Markets said the Nifty was down 1.7% and foreign investors were continuing to withdraw funds during the selloff.
