Arch Insurance EU names Andrea De Simone head of cyber for Italy

De Simone, based in Milan, will report to Arch’s Europe cyber chief and help expand the insurer’s cyber, tech E&O, and media E&O portfolio across Italy on both primary and excess terms.

Arch Insurance EU, part of Arch Insurance International, has appointed Andrea De Simone as Head of Cyber for Italy, based in Milan.

In the role, De Simone will be responsible for growing Arch’s cyber portfolio in Italy and providing cyber, tech E&O, and media E&O solutions on a primary and excess basis.

De Simone joins Arch from Sompo, where he served as a Senior Cyber Underwriter in Italy, after earlier cyber underwriting roles at Chubb, including Major Account Cyber Underwriter.

Arch said the appointment is intended to support its brokers and mutual clients, with Europe’s Head of Cyber Jose Carlos Jiménez Fernández saying the move creates opportunities for growth in Italy.
