Bitcoin from early Satoshi-era rewards moves after more than 16 years

The 100 BTC transferred originated from two mining rewards from Bitcoin’s early period and is now valued at about $8.5 million.

CoinDesk reports that a tranche of early Bitcoin mined during the so-called Satoshi-era moved for the first time in more than 16 years.

According to the outlet, the transfer involves 100 BTC that came from two mining rewards created in Bitcoin’s earliest days and had not moved for over 16 years.

CoinDesk also notes that the coins are now worth about $8.5 million.
