Casa Grande approves 954-acre data center campus by LKY Development
The plan includes low- to zero-ongoing water use cooling and a power setup designed to avoid relying on a traditional electric grid connection for primary service, with Bloom Energy slated to handle generation.
Casa Grande planning officials greenlit LKY Development Company’s proposal for a 954-acre data center campus at Montgomery Road and Maricopa-Casa Grande Highway, according to ConnectCRE.
ConnectCRE also reports the project sits in Casa Grande, between Phoenix and Tucson, and that LKY is seeking a buyer to purchase the Grande Valley Industrial site and take over development.
The campus design is intended to use low- to zero-ongoing water consumption cooling technologies, incorporate sustainable building practices, and include low-emission, de minimis on-site electrical generation.
Power is expected to be handled by Bloom Energy, with the project not anticipated to rely on a traditional electric grid connection for primary power service, as described by ConnectCRE.
