Equinor discovers gas at Gullfaks South field in Norway North Sea

Equinor said the discovery at Gullfaks South, about 190 kilometers northwest of Bergen, is expected to underpin production and activity at the Gullfaks production license.

Equinor has discovered gas at the Gullfaks field in Norway, a find the company says would help sustain production and activity at its production license in the northern part of the North Sea.

According to OilPrice, the operator said the discovery relates to the Gullfaks South field, located 190 kilometers northwest of Bergen, together with partners Petoro and OMV.

The outlet also reported that Equinor and its partners provided estimates for the discovery, pointing to a range of 3.3 million to 10.3 million (figures shown in the source were truncated in the provided text).
