Ethereum falls 5% to 6% as ETF outflows and leverage drive liquidations
Spot Ethereum ETFs logged another day of outflows, extending withdrawals to seven straight sessions, according to Forexlive.
Ethereum slid about 5% to 6% after sustained pressure from persistent spot Ethereum ETF outflows and heavy leverage amplified a broader risk off selloff, Forexlive reports.
The outlet said the drop was not tied to a major Ethereum specific negative development, instead pointing to worsening ETF flows alongside elevated long positioning that intensified downside moves through liquidations.
Forexlive also linked the weaker tone to a more challenging macro backdrop, citing rising oil prices and higher Treasury yields that kept rate hike expectations steady, plus a stronger US dollar weighing on risk assets.
The report raised whether the move reflects a leverage flush or the start of a longer correction, noting continued ETF outflows as a key factor to watch.
